You must take these symptoms seriously and be checked as soon as possible. To make the most of your office visit, please come prepared and bring all your all medications (prescription and over the counter).
Many times patients are concerned about the costs involved with a diabetes diagnosis. We want you to know that if you can’t afford the glucose monitor, we will provide you with one. Next, rest assured that if Type II diabetes is diagnosed in the early stages, it can often be managed with some dietary changes and exercise. If you have the above symptoms you cannot afford to ignore them.
If you have been diagnosed with diabetes, you know that it is a disease you will live with the rest of your life. Your life with diabetes is manageable when controlled through diet, exercise, weight loss and medication.
Management Recommendations: People who have been diagnosed will require tests/exams to learn how to manage their diabetes. Average blood sugar tests should be done quarterly. Blood pressure and weight should be checked with each regular office visit. Office visits should be made every 3-4 months or as directed. The following should be done on a yearly basis:
